After Boot Training/Uniform Rules

After Boot Camp Training

SOI (School of Infantry)
○ Located at Camp Pendleton in California.
○ This is where your Marine will be going for additional training after his 10 day leave.
○ Every Marine will attend SOI, but they will be split up between Non-Infantry MOS (Military Occupational Specialty, aka his job in the Corps) and Infantry MOS.

MCT (Marine Combat Training)
○ For all Marines that have a Non-Infantry MOS (Ex: Military Police, Motor T, Aviation Mechanic, etc.)
○ 29 day training
○ Your Marine will bring his cell phone, but it will be taken up upon his arrival
○ There will be little to no communication during MCT
○Your Marine should get the 3rd and 4th weekend off, but nothing is a guarantee

ITB (Infantry Training Battalion)
○ For all Marines that have an Infantry MOS
○ 59 day training
○ Your Marine will bring his cell phone, but it will be taken up during the working day
○ Your Marine should get weekends off (I'm unsure of nights during the week)


In Uniform Rules 

Your Marine should know all of the Do's and Don'ts in and out of his uniform, but here is a list of everything he can and can't do.

In regards to PDA:

○ Moderate kissing/hugging after a long absence is permitted
○ Always respect the uniform. If you wouldn't do it in front of your grandma, don't do it while he is in his uniform.
○ No hand holding--instead he will escort you
          This will always happen on his left side. His right hand needs to always be ready to salute


While walking your Marine is not permitted to:

○ Walk with his hands in his pockets (this doesn't just pertain to walking)
○ Eat or Drink
○ Talk on/text with a cellphone or tablet
○ Smoke
○ Chew gum/tobacco

Your Marine should never:

○ Carry an umbrella in uniform
○ Share his uniform
○ Wear Cammies off base

You should never

○ Wear his uniform
